JOSH STEEL, president and general manager of the Whitefish Wolverines Hockey Club (WWHC), established a passion for hockey at a very young age. He played youth hockey in Philadelphia, New England, and Southern Canada. Josh graduated from St. Lawrence University. He continued to play hockey after college, participating in a number of short tours with the ECHL.

After moving to Montana, Josh immersed himself in developing the sport in the Flathead Valley and throughout Montana. He serves on numerous boards, including the Stumptown Ice Den Board and the Montana Amateur Hockey Association Board, the USA hockey affiliate in Montana.

With over twenty years of coaching experience at various levels of play, most recently running the goalie program for the previous Junior team in Whitefish, Josh brings a teacher’s approach to his unique methods of instruction. As hockey director of the Whitefish Wolverines, Josh will manage all aspects of the hockey program. He acts as General Manager of the WWHC, working with the coaches to ensure the development and advancement of athletes in the areas of on-ice skills, dry land training, and the hockey concepts’ classroom and he will also run an extensive goalie development program.
